Business Overview
Sustainability in Taiwan is characterized by a polarized development pattern: while large enterprises keep pace with international trends and achieve world-class standards, corporate sustainability efforts in the past were often all talk and no action. To overcome future challenges and leapfrog the competition, Taiwan requires a "systemic transformation" rather than mere "incremental change."
It is possible to generate profit and capture sustainable business opportunities while doing good, thereby encouraging more small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to align with international sustainable supply chain standards; we believe that even limited resources can drive significant sustainability impact. In the wake of the pandemic, there is a need for a new Sustainable Development Goal—SDG 18—tailored to the digital age, harnessing this powerful transformative force for the benefit of humanity and the planet. In June 2020, a coalition of enterprises, government bodies, civil society organizations, and academic institutions jointly issued "The Montreal Statement on Sustainability in the Digital Age," laying the groundwork for advocating SDG 18.
The Statement aims to foster societal understanding that addressing the climate crisis, establishing global sustainable development, and achieving an equitable digital future are interconnected goals worthy of concerted effort. It advocates shifting consumer habits toward products with a low carbon footprint and transitioning societal mindsets from reliance on fossil fuels to the use of renewable energy. In light of this, our company is committed to leveraging digital technology products and services to enhance human well-being.
